Dow introduces softer nonwovens

Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics has introduced ASPUN™ MB Meltblown Fiber Resins and POUCHUG™ sensory packaging technology to provide converters and brand owners new options for improved comfort and softness in nonwoven applications. The fiber resins address the challenges of increasing softness and comfort while maintaining strength, durability and processing efficiency in fabrics such as bico-SMS nonwovens. This patent-pending family of polyethylene resins is an ideal solution for nonwovens in infant diapers, adult incontinence products, medical drapes and other products. In nonwoven packaging applications, POUCHUG™ sensory packaging technology enables the replacement of the external layer of a laminate with a soft, cloth-like nonwoven substrate to elevate packaging to a new level.
