Alpha Engineered Composites LLC, Lakewood, N.J., has acquired the Fairprene business unit from Virginia-based Longwood Elastomers, a Wabtec Company. Fairprene is knownacross the automotive, fluid sealing, petrochemical and aerospace industries for itstechnical niche in performance sheet stock, coated fabrics and specialty composites. Alpha Engineered Composites is recognized for its significant expertise in calendering and curing silicone, fluorosilicone, fluoroelastomer, HNBR and other high-performance
elastomers. Alpha’s purchase of the Fairprene brand and technology is expected to create greater value and spur innovation.
