Julius Koch pull cords: We offer a wide range of standard colours and designs for any type of sun screening products.

After 130 years of tradition in technical textiles, Julius Koch Group is writing a new chapter combining its deep European heritage with a renewed focus on the North American market. Following a generational change in the management team, Julius Koch is entering its “next generation” phase, where innovation and business expansion take center stage.

Webtex ® G2 is superior in terms of thickness, stiffness, UV resistance and breaking strength.

Established in Europe and expanded worldwide, Julius Koch first entered the U.S. in the 1960s, becoming one of the industry’s most recognized brands in technical textiles. Following a management buyout in the 1980s, the American branch grew into a major independent player in North America, supplying textile components for sun screening products. Despite this separation, Julius Koch and its former U.S. colleagues maintained close ties over the decades, meeting at international exhibitions and following each other’s developments. In 2018, the last managing partner retired and sold the U.S. operations, which have been finally terminated last year.

Now, with the new generation in Julius Koch Group and brand rights in the U.S. regained, the company is preparing for a strong comeback — potentially with its own U.S. entity in the future. Julius Koch respects that doing business in North America requires a different approach than in Europe. The Group`s new management team recognizes opportunities to combine the best of both continents: European engineering and durability with an American pace of business and customer-driven flexibility.

Julius Koch intends to take care of Julius Koch’s former customers in the United States to ensure continuous service provision and the delivery of top-quality products. In addition, Julius Koch is actively seeking distribution partners and new business development partners to establish a sustainable, long-term presence in the U.S.

Innovation remains the DNA of the company. In 2021, Webtex® G2, Julius Koch’s next-generation lift tape for external venetian blinds, has won the R+T Innovation Award. Developed through close collaboration with customers, Webtex® G2 delivers new standards for high-performance textile components at a competitive price in demanding outdoor applications. In June 2025, Julius Koch Group was honored as one of Germany’s Top 100 Innovative Companies in the medium-sized category, underscoring its forward-looking approach

Looking ahead, Julius Koch is ready to reaffirm its presence in North America and will showcase its solutions at the Sun Shading Expo, November 5–7, 2025, in Indianapolis. Visitors and interested partners are invited to meet the Julius Koch Sales Team in person and explore partnership opportunities and new initiatives.
