Nous Étudions unveiled El fin del mundo, principio de todo (The End of the World, Beginning of Everything), the first fashion collection using Polybion’s Celium™ bacterial cellulose material, which is derived from agroindustrial fruit waste. To exemplify the name, the collection was presented in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
The collection was inspired by designer Romina Cardillo’s expedition to Antarctica, an experience that became a call to conserve, not only through message but through material. That led her to Polybion and Celium.
Over several months, both companies worked together to explore how Celium could take on different densities, weights and textures. The collection features Celium in its Original, Translucent, and Espumante variants.
The collaboration used manual pleating and laser-cut techniques to reveal how the biomaterial can move, fold and breathe like fabric.
The Tierra del Fuego Tourism Institute (INFUETUR) and local partners supported logistics, hospitality and vegan gastronomy for the event, turning it into a bridge between fashion, innovation and regional promotion.
