Copland Industries, a Burlington, N.C., textile manufacturer, will close at the end of 2018. The company, which has operated for 77 years, citied competition in the form of less expensive fabrics from China and increasing costs as reasons for the closure. Copland has paid its 200 employees through the end of the year and will hold job fairs to help them find new employment.
