As aid pours into Haiti and the massive cleanup begins, Ansell Ltd. is assisting with the relief effort by shipping gloves for medical workers and work crews involved in the search for victims and removal of debris. The company shipped exam gloves to Haiti in January, working with Direct Relief Intl., a nonprofit humanitarian medical relief organization. Based on specific needs expressed by workers in Haiti, Ansell has now donated additional disposable (exam and non-exam grade) gloves and work gloves. Brett Williams, director of emergency response for Direct Relief, noted “During emergencies of this magnitude, the basics become life savers. And one thing each healthcare provider needs is gloves.”
