Teijin Fibers Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, has developed a proprietary technology that allows polyester to be chemically broken down and then converted into new polyester raw material, a closed-loop recycling system that conserves oil and reduces waste. In October, ECO CIRCLE™ received the Award for Environmental Innovation from ICIS.com, the publishing arm of Reed Business Information in the U.K. The ECO CIRCLE system now includes a global network of more than 130 companies, including apparel, sportswear and uniform manufacturers.
