My customer, a national retailer, is telling me to have the tents I produce for them tested to CPAI-84. Isn’t that for fabric?
CPAI-84, titled “A Specification for Flame-Resistant Materials Used in Camping Tentage,” was written by IFAI when our name was the Canvas Products Association International. You’re absolutely correct in that it was written for roll goods and not a finished product; it simply wasn’t engineered or intended for that. You can have the fabrics used in the tent, including the wall/top and floor, assessed by CPAI-84, but not the tent itself.
