Front-end engineering work has begun for a new U.S. Invista nylon 6,6 intermediates and polymer plant at the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park in China. The plant will have a design capacity of 10,000 metric tons per year and will be completed by 2014. The nylon 6,6 fiber will be used in the manufacture of airbags for cars.
