Monmouth and Ocean County Awning contributed a bit of the vintage look to the Bruce Springsteen biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, whichcame out in late October 2025. The company, founded in 1940 and based in Asbury Park, N.J., created a backdrop for the Down a Clown carnival game and fabricated and installed several custom awnings for filming.

Heated apparel company ororo® released its first heated garments for pets. In partnership with online pet supplier Chewy Inc., ororo launched the Koldpwoof Heated Dog Vest, the first heated dog apparel to be sold on Chewy. The company also created a heated vest collection for the 2026 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in celebration of the dog show’s 150th anniversary and ororo’s 10th anniversary. The collection featured vests for humans and dogs, which were available to purchase at the show.

Charter yacht MV Last Call, which cruises from Alaska to Mexico, needed a modular, multi-season sundeck enclosure so guests could enjoy the hot tub no matter the latitude. To properly outfit the 40.3-meter (132-foot) luxury vessel, the planning and fabrication had to be meticulous.

Fabric Forge has opened a 9,000-square-foot lab in Houston, Texas, providing community members with textile education and workforce training opportunities. An initiative of the nonprofit Connect Community, Fabric Forge allows children and adults to explore the tools and skills involved in producing soft goods, from patternmaking, designing and prototyping to final production.

Researchers at the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) have developed a high-performance polyester-amide (PEA) fiber that decomposes by more than 92% in one year under marine conditions and is also compostable and recyclable. The scientists envision gill nets made of the material, which fishermen typically use just a few times. The nets spend only about a month total in the water before being discarded. KRICT president Young-Kuk Lee says, “This technology marks a pivotal step toward the commercialization of biodegradable engineering plastics and will significantly contribute to solving the global marine plastic pollution crisis.”
