The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) provides sustainability certification to the printing and graphics industry, and leading companies such as HP, Durst Image Technology, Top Value Fabrics and DuPont support the nonprofit organization’s goals. Printers need to offer environmentally friendly options for clients focused on sustainability, and SGP has established industry standards and the opportunity for certification of print operations. To obtain certification, print facilities establish a sustainability management system; implement best practices in sustainability; comply with local, state and federal environmental laws; and use SGP’s sustainability metrics to report annual progress.
