Industry News | November 1, 2013 | By:

The world’s leading clothing exporting companies are turning toward emerging nations for sales, while exports to Europe continue to fall, according to the latest issue of Global Apparel Markets, published by Textiles Intelligence. Even within the EU, exports fell; EU exports to countries outside the EU increased by 12.1 percent, while exports within member states declined by 11.6 percent. China, one of the largest exporters of clothing, saw export declines of 22.4 percent in Germany and 14.0 percent in France, while exports increased to its other eight largest markets. Export growth was strong in the Middle East, Asia and South America. Manufacturers based in India saw export decline in eight of its 10 largest markets in 2012. The situation in the Eurozone is expected to improve, although slowly, in 2013. For further information, visit Textiles Intelligence.
