NILIT acquires INVISTA manufacturing site

Industry News | December 1, 2014 | By:

NILIT, an Israeli manufacturer of nylon 6.6 for thermoplastics and apparel applications, has signed an agreement to acquire INVISTA’s Americana, Brazil, manufacturing site. NILIT plans to continue nylon 6.6 operations there, increasing DTY capacity and reinforcing its local presence. The acquisition will enable NILIT to expand in South America, Brazil in particular, where the company plans to expand circular and warp knitting segments. With this transaction, INVISTA, a U.S. integrated producer of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers, will focus its energy in Brazil on its growing LYCRA® spandex business. The transaction is expected to close the fourth quarter of 2014, pending receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.
